Since I do not have the factory battery pack, the Coda computer has the car in a locked mode. Brian explained to me that their software doesn't allow the car to operate unless everything is exactly where it needs to be and that means the Coda computer is useless to me. So I will be taking a different approach. I have the equivalent to an entire Leaf battery pack, which gets me in the right voltage but with a smaller capacity than your factory pack. Then to drive the UQM drive train, I have a different customize-able computer that can drive the UQM controller/motor. It's not all plug and play but it will be an interesting project never the less.

One thing that has me worried about your pack is that you don't know if it is just a bad battery cell or if the battery management system is damaging the cell via a short or some faulty part. Which would end you up right where you are even after you replace the faulty cell(s). I am interested to help as much as I can, if only to see how they built their battery pack. Good luck on your quest for new cells. Do you have any info on what type of battery cells they are? Brand/Model/Capacity? That would be one advantage to opening up the pack, you may be able to pull that data right from the individual cell. From what I recall, they used LiFePO4 chemistry.

I still have hopes of finding cells, If a leaf pack works out for you... maybe we can do two! Or maybe I can drop the CODA with Brain, and he can help verify no issues with the battery management system.... but the good news is he did not seem to think that was the issue last time I talked to him.

At this point the lightning bolt comes on between 90% and 87%, still usable for the daily commute, but just barely.

As I said, all other systems indicate all is well, the analog % gauge is at 100%, the "green bars" on the screen show 100% as is the % reading and the estimated mileage. I have to believe it is a few imbalanced cells, or a software glitch not allowing access to the full battery. Still thinking positive!

This is on the Wikipedia page with respect to the batteries:

CODA announced the creation and funding of LIO Energy Systems,[6] a global joint-venture with Lishen Power Battery. LIO Energy Systems was formed with the purpose of designing, manufacturing, and selling battery systems for electric vehicles and utility applications. LIO Energy Systems will supply battery systems to CODA Automotive for use in the all-electric CODA, to other automotive OEMs globally, and to renewable energy producers, utilities and other power storage customers. LIO Energy Systems was later renamed CODA Energy.[7]

I have several other people tell me that that Lishen did the batteries, nobody mentioned the "LIO Energy Systems" they than it appears to have went Bankrupt with CODA: http://business-bankruptcies.com/cases/ ... ldings-llc.

this article was interesting... sounds lot like Tesla... eh?: http://www.areadevelopment.com/newsitem ... 0294.shtml

Some on Lishen:

This claims to be a pack made up of said cells.

http://r.ebay.com/9kV2ox

At those specs the pack would have 80 cells. Maybe try contacting the seller to see if they can get a few cells.
